Lion Cub
Entering the world for the first time is terrifying. The only thing I can feel is my mother's warm coat and my two siblings next to me, crying and desperate to claim all of mother's attention. The world is new and cold. I can't see and can barely hear. I can hear echos in the background however, saying, "Everyone, meet your new king."
Creaking DoorYou enter the dark, paranoia sets in all to quick, the day has passed and the night has begun, the bell tower ring and the bell hums.
That old crumbling bell tower whispers to you, "come inside and we will have some fun, we'll play a game, just you and me and my bell. Just listen to her sounds, the constant chimes and rings. Though it could be hard to hear, over the creaking door. There is one way in and one way out that's through that creaking door, you have a 50% chance you make it out of that door alive, but believe me, you'll love this game I want to play so much, you could almost die.
Fall is wonderful. Changes in colors and a crisper air. Everyone has falling leaves in their hair. Climbing up trees without a care. Fall is unique. The perfect in between. Cooling us off without turning on frost. The season of pumpkin's and cider and candy apples, it's hard not to smile when you close your eyes, and imagine fall coming on rise.
The ocean is a vast and mysterious place. The seaweed is green, the coral is pink, the sandy bottom is grey. Though what of the water? The ocean is a complex ecosystem, its life however, would all be dead and gone without water. Water is a constant for life, though water itself is not constant. The water cycles in and out everyday. Water off the coasts of Chile could be in Europe the next day. Not even its colors can stay the same. In the elegant Caribbean Sea, you'll find crystal reefs as the Arctic Ocean shows a black deathly color.
Stormy Night
Good morning, Emma!
ReplyDeleteThe fall piece was my personal favorite. Autumn has always been my favorite season. Good job!
Wow! You use so many descriptive words. I literally read each twice because they’re so beautiful. Your writing stands up of the paper and paints the picture itself. The lion cub one was very cute and I felt kind of bad for the poor guy. The creaking door gave me chills. I paranoia setting in was such a great opening story and you just built off of it. And the one about fall was very descriptive. I’ve been trying to avoid fall because soon after fall comes winter and hate winter and snow and ice. Fall is such a beautiful time though. I wish I had more time to just take it all in. the one about the sea, stole my heart. I LOVE the ocean. I love the sand and the smell and the different air and the saltiness. My heart is somewhere floating in the ocean. However, I’ve only been to the ocean around Destin Florida. I’ve always wanted to go to the Caribbean or Cozumel. Thanks for enlightening my day with your words
ReplyDeleteI really liked reading these little short stories, it may be weird but I like how your mind works, those stories were well thought out and put together. You're writing is very visual and I like that, keep up the good work!
