Final, blog...

The semester has been something else.  I'm truly going to miss this class...  The people, the crafts, the writing, and of course the laughs.  I will miss it all.

  1.   Throughout the semester we have been able to experience several different forms of writing.  Poetry, simple stories, rhymes.  We would base them off different things like pictures, paintings or memories, even food at one point.  We would write stories based upon the seasons in our journals and on our blog.  Sometimes we had a part II to our assignments of reading our classmate's work,  then commenting on each work and summarizing on our page what we read in our peer's writings.
  2. I always found it wonderful to read work done by Laura Payne and both Taylor Marshal and Denton.  Marshal was always very fascinating to read because of her strong and loud opinions. She wasn't afraid to put out there what she believed.  Payne had a very sweet constancy that always was refreshing and smooth.  Denton managed to be the most whimsical writer I read while we were in this class, using excellent vocabulary and heavy description, I was always able to see her writing.
  3. I set up my blog originally very plain.  I got bored with it fast.  I changed it to an autumn color up until Halloween, then updated it for the season.  Afterwards I changed it back to red, different though, it's a bit richer now.  The name Active Dreamer wasn't really inspired, it just sorta popped into my head one day, so I wrote it down.
  4. As far is journaling goes, I don't know how into it I was or will be in the future, I have premature carpel tunnel an my right wrist so writing by hand is really annoying.  When I do journal, it's usually pretty personal, so I'd prefer no one else see.
  5. A Mother's Love

    I walk in my home,
    Just saw my horse,
    Exhausting day working the play,
My mother greets me with love.

The love I'm greeted with is not just a hug,
its also the smells in the air,
    Potato Leek Soup,
    My favorite.

The aroma of soy sauce and cream,
    Pepper and Leeks
    And of course Potatoes,
    Dance through the air.

    As the soup simmers,
    I hear the mixer,
    Beating a batter,
    As bananas join the mix.

    My two favorite foods,
    Banana bread,
    Potato Leek soup,
All I needed now was apple cider.

    My mother is very loving,
she shows it in many ways,
her cooking is just one of the few,
I wish I could show her too,
    Just how thankful I am,
And that I love her too.
  6. Brizo
    A Shepard's Dog.

A scruffy face and smiling eyes,
    Gentle and loyal,
He's young, but looks so wise.
Quick to act and slow to anger

    His ears are long
    His nose is busy,
He'll love you till he's gone
Or till his face is grey

    He may not be big,
    Though his heart is,
    He'll follow you forever.

To the ends of the earth,
    Till the end of time,
    He'll be by your side,

  7. I love doing creative writing in my spare time, I've been working on a novel that I plan to publish in the future.  I like to use it as an escape sometimes of what I wish my life could be like.
  8. This semester has been a pleasure, I've loved getting to know some of you, others I wish I could have gotten to know better.  You're a good group.  It's sad we won't be all together again in the same class.  I hope our paths will cross again one day.  Bless you all and have a Merry Christmas.

Moments
September 2014

To a departed, beloved, friend, mother and grandmother,  truly the greatest there was in every way...
To: Emma Francis Roberts
Love, your Grandchildren

-Never have I ever heard someone say “Well, Hello Josh,” as sweetly as Banananose.  It just had that certain loving grandma ring to it that made me feel good.  Even when I got scolded, which I swear rarely happened, I could still feel the love and care.
-Grandma made the best birthday cake ever. I deem that at my house anyway it shall hence forth be called, Grandma’s Gooey Butter Cake
-I am still not sorry I locked her out for the car and ate her Lorna Doones.
-No matter what she was always a smooth operator ready with great advice.
-Josh Roberts

-Sit in the reclining chairs and watch the news until we wanted to go to bed, and just simply spend time together while I lived there.
-When I lived with her she always woke up just to have breakfast with me, and then would go back to bed afterwards.
-She would always send letters with news articles, leaves and flower petals to her grandkids when she found something she thought would interest them.
-Joey Roberts

-Since I grew up in California, I never got to see fire flies.  Only when I got to visit my Grandma and Grandpa did I get to see fire flies.  Her backyard was so magical at dusk, with the sun faintly reflecting towards her garden of vegetables and heritage flowers, it was like a fairy tale once you added in the fire flies.
-Towards the end of her time with us, she mentioned to my mom and I constantly, how proud she was of her grandchildren, and how thankful she was for all of them, and her sisters, children and her husband Leo.
-Emma Hayford

-It made me so happy to hear her tell us what a blessing we all were, she was always so hospitable to us and always kind to us, always going out of her way to make sure we were all happy.
-Before I left for college, I was able to have a one on one conversation with her.  She told me how much her grandkids meant to her and gave me her words of encouragements.  I am so happy to know that the last time I got to see her it was just the two of us and we said good bye.  As much as I’ll miss her, I am happy about the note we left on.
-Davis Hayford

- Growing up with grandma and grandpa living down the street , i was lucky enough to spend a lot of time with grandma.  I would help her in the garden , and one of my favorite memories was learning how to make her famous chicken and dumplings. I also spent a lot of time playing and climbing the apple tree in her front yard.
- As they moved to springfield I did not get to see grandma as often but our time together was always special , she will be missed.!
-John Roberts
-Since I didn’t live near my grandma, when I got to spend the night at grandma’s was super special, since it was such a rarity.  She gave me whatever I wanted for breakfast and I always picked orange soda and cake, so thats what she gave me.
-Nathan Roberts
-Being around Grandma always brought a feeling of specialness and laughter.  I loved hearing the stories that she would tell, and laughing together with her, especially when something unexpected would come out and really crack us all up, which happened a lot. Her extremely positive outlook on life, always focusing on the blessings, was something that for me really stood out.  I learned a lot from that outlook, and it comes to mind often when dealing with tough situations.

Benji

I do not have a picture of my photograph, but I will describe it.

Benji was exactly what someone would use to describe a dog.  "Man's best friend".  Benji was a perfect mutt, scruffy and wiry as could be with erect ears.  He was fun sized, he liked to go for boat rides across the family pond.  Benji was a family friend, protector and comic.  In the picture he is shown next to a beer can while standing on the dock at the family farm.

Remi

Remi lived alone in a back alley in Mexico City.  A very dangerous place for any dog to live, for in this city, dog fights thrived, with cruel men picking up any dog from the street to be either a competitor, or bait, to be ripped to shreds by the challengers.  Remi could barely keep up with the world around him.  For such a tiny dog, he kept up fairly well however.
One day, a very important religious figure was in town.  Remi was curious to all the hullabaloo and went and followed the trail.  There were flowers and people cheering, Remi felt like a prince!  He held his head high and pranced down the street.  Such a wonderful moment for such a small dog.

Maybe Glen McBride

This is Maybe Glen and her Aunt Mini.  Maybe was quite a tomboy.  She dreaded dress and pretty shoes.  She loved chasing toads and rolling in mud.  It took hours to scramble her into a dress, little legs flailing everywhere, kicking and screaming.  Mini was anything but pleased with her five year old niece's behavior.  The only way that they could get Maybe to sit still for the photographer was to put her on the neighbor's pony Finnegan.

For France, Syria, Iraq and the Downfall of Isis

My love, be at peace
You’ve seen too much
You’ve bled enough
Where is society

Mon amour , être en paix
Vous avez vu trop de
Vous avez saigné assez
Où est la société

As cities burn, as mother’s cry,
we shall rise,
the world deserves justice
And peace will be delivered

There’s humans everywhere,
But there is no humanity.
My heart goes to you, my love
Please be strong, Please endure

Il ya l'homme partout dans le monde ,
Mais il n'y a pas d'humanité .
Mon coeur va à vous, mon amour
S'il vous plaît être fort, s'il vous plaît supporter

As cities burn, as mother’s cry,
we shall rise,
the world deserves justice
And peace will be delivered

We will stand together as one.
Not just us, but all of us,
We’ve all faced the fire,
It’s time to be forceful

Nous resterons ensemble comme une seule .
Pas seulement nous, mais nous tous ,
Nous avons tous été confrontés au feu,
Il est temps d'être énergique

Mon amour , être en paix

Vous avez vu trop de
Vous avez saigné assez
Où est la société
